France has numerous picturesque, historic villages and beautiful castles all of which make you feel like you have stepped back in time… and today you will feel this arriving in charming Loire Valley countryside and along the Loire river bank.
Arrive in Saumur town by your own arrangements and start with the visit of Combier distillery. Original Combier, the world’s first triple sec, is made according to the exact specifications of a proprietary recipe created in Saumur. You will get the chance to see the beautiful copper stills, sample some of the huge range of liqueurs made there and you might come away with a selection of your favourites.
Later in the afternoon, enjoy a unique cruise aboard a traditionnal wooden boat of the Loire. A 1 hour cruise to discover the landscapes from the river. From their you will get a fantastic view over Saumur castle and town and the wild nature. A glass of Loire Valley wine will be served on board so you can cheers to the start of this getaway!
Early evening, check-in to your hotel, a beautiful renovated historic house in Saumur city centre. The fully equipped apartment

Take some time to enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles in the lovely courtyard or in the cafe decorated with style. (not included)

This morning, drive along the Loire river to and arrive in a splendid wine estate. Enjoy a visit of the cellar followed by a wine tasting from the estate. You will love the panoramic view from the terrace and to learn more about the large diversity of Loire Valley wines.
Free time for lunch.
This afternoon, drive through the vineyards in a traditional old combi Volkswagen. Your driver will take you through the vineyard and you will stop for a wine tasting in a local wine estate. The perfect adventure on wheels during this vintage journey!
Later, we suggest a stroll in one of the picturesque villages on the river bank, Candes Saint Martin and Montsoreau. These two are the perfect spot to enjoy an incredible view. With its white tuffeau stone houses, the royal river and the traditional boats at the dock, it is a spot not to be missed!

For your final day here, we invite you to visit one of the famous sparkling wine house in Saumur. A unique and fun visit to discover the underground cave with a vintage bike. You will cycle in the huge gallery and get to know more about the wine making process.
The visit will be followed by a wine tasting.
