AT THE STEERING WHEEL OF A LEGENDARY FRENCH VINTAGE CAR
Gear up to the discovering of the “Royal River” and its famous castles: at the steering wheel of a legendary French collector vintage car from the 50-60s. Over 5 days and 4 nights, take off on the assault of Chenonceau, Azay-le-Rideau, Villandry, Brissac and Angers.
Enjoy this region of older times and feel the magic of these beautiful sites, alongside the River Loire whose white tufastone houses reflect in it.
Choose your vintage car and follow our tailor-made roadmap. Enjoy the feeling of pleasure by the pedestrians thrilled at the sight of cars that call some sympathy and a hint of nostalgia: Citroën Traction, Peugeot 203, among others!
As luxury is very personal, you will be housed either in châteaux-hôtels, boutique hotels or magnificent B&Bs. Hidden in the woods, overhanging the Loire or dug into the hillsides, the whole accommodation range offers you the best: friendly welcome, comfort and social interaction to relax during your Loire Valley Tours.
Once you have passed by the Corniche Angevine that overlooks the Royal River, you visit the Château de Brissac, also called “the Giant of the Loire Valley”, which is the property of the Duke of Brissac. You then drive along the Loire up to Saumur. Stop there for a moment to visit this pearl of the Loire Valley, known for its troglodytic caves, wines, its castle, its famous traditional horse riding school “Le Cadre-Noir” and its charming narrow streets. And why not stop there to enjoy a glass of Crémant de Loire?
After breakfast, get behind the steering wheel again and off you go to visit the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, famous among others for its architecture and its four recumbent statues of the Plantagenet dynasty: Henry II of England, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Richard the Lion Heart, Isabella of Angouleme.
In the afternoon, be enchanted by the Château of Ussé, the castle of the Sleeping Beauty, which is the property of the Duke of Blacas. If you see the gate is open, don’t hesitate to drive up to the castle; your car won’t stand out in this scenery!
Visit the château of Azay-le-Rideau, a master piece of the French First Renaissance.
As you carry on in this enchanting atmosphere, you then visit the Castle of Chenonceau, also called “Castle of the Ladies”. Your hotel is not far from there, where you can dream of the day and the next to come!
Drive down the lovely River Loire until arriving at the Château of Villandry, where you can’t help being fascinated by its extraordinary gardens. Make your way to Montsoreau and have a beautiful night with a view over the Loire River.
The Château of Angers with its seventeen towers and its wonderful Apocalypse Tapestry is waiting for you on your last day to sooth your soul before you go back to a more bustling life.
