There are mushrooms and there are truffles but….truffles are indeed mushrooms ! **Black truffles are one of the best luxury food** products whose exotic nature has been enjoyed since ancient Roman times. Today, the famous mushrooms (Tuber Melanosporum) are still a mystery, but they are grown by a handful of enthusiasts such as the « Baron de la Truffe ».

As **the truffle season takes place at the end of the year**, truffles are also a perfect treat for a trip into the Loire Valley.

### Visit of a truffle farm

Start your day with the visit of a truffle farm. You will be welcome by Serge and **enjoy a unique experience.**
Go searching for the “Black Diamond” in the company of “Baron de la Truffe”. On a stroll through the truffle field, **the truffle-farmer is your guide and reveals the secrets of truffles**: how to create a truffle field and how to maintain it, its size and its particular flora. **The « Baron de la Truffe » and his dogs take you around the « truffières » and give you an idea about how to look for this incredible mushroom**. Get ready to become a real truffle expert !

### Lunch at a French chef country home

After the morning’s exertions, your driver will take you to a former French chef country house. 
Upon arriving at the former chef’s country house, **you are warmly welcomed by the host**. You may be greeted with **a glass of champagne or a local wine, setting the tone for a relaxed and elegant meal.**
Truffles are a delicacy, and when enjoyed in the charming setting of a country house, it becomes a memorable occasion.

### Chinon winery visit

Later in the afternoon, stop in a **Chinon family own winery**. Chinon is renowned for its red wines made from Cabernet Franc grapes. You’ll be guided through the **winery’s cellar, where the winemaking magic happens**. You’ll see the fermentation tanks, oak barrels, and **learn about the winemaking process from grape to bottle**. The winemaker may explain their approach to crafting Chinon wines. **The visit will be followed by a wine tasting**.
